Flying day today! Rio to Buenos Aires via San Paulo. We had a light breakfast in the foyer of the Hotel at 4:15 and then headed off to the airport. The graffiti in Rio has been terrible and most places don't ever seem to be cleaned, but we did see one area being cleaned. Not sure if the wall needed some repair work, but they were scraping the concrete off and reconcreting to get rid of the graffiti?
I know some people dont like tours but it is so nice to have someone tell you what to do and where to go and you don't have to do so much thinking!
When we arrived in B.A. another tour director met us with the bus!!! Again great to be met and transported and be able to enjoy the city sights without having to decider a map to figure out where the accommodation is!
B.A. has such a lovely feel to it, much nicer than Rio. it seems so much cleaner and greener. the architecture is amazing...such magnificent buildings. We arrived at our hotel - what a beautiful place. Quite luxurious! Room is very spacious and so nicely done out. But a bottle of Evian water is so expensive...$8! huge view from our room and the sunset was worth photographing. We then walked to a lovely Italian restaurant that opened early just for us for dinner. We were all very tired and it was only 5:30 pm so we ate, headed back to the hotel and went straight to sleep. I was asleep by 9:30, I think that is a first on this trip!

  1. Sure does look a nice city. I agree with you about tours. So easy just to follow and not have to think where, when, what. It is especially good if it is a fun group and you have good tour guides. You learn a lot from the guides too.
