Today we walked to the TV Tower (368m) and rode the elevator to the viewing platform at 203m to view the city of Berlin. Quite amazing views...there are 3.4 million people in Berlin and there is so much housing of all types.

We could also see the largest department store in Germany.
In the same area was the world clock that showed the time around the world.
We then walked to the Brandenburg gates..the separation of East and West Germany that became part of the Berlin Wall. It is topped by the chariot ridden by Victoria, the goddess of victory.

(It was quite cold..6C with icy westerly winds)

We also saw the memorial to the Parliamentarians that had been killed during the war.
Parliament House was amazing. We hadn't booked so were unable to take a tour inside.

The below monument was to those Soviets who died in the war

We then headed to the victory column that was in the middle of a huge garden area, the Tiergarrten. It commemorates the victory of the Prussian-Danish war. The angel on top was added after two further war victories against Austria and France.
It had beautiful mosaics in the middle section.

Interesting incidents we witnessed...plain clothes police had handcuffed 5 people
And then heaps and heaps of police at a demonstration of Turkish protesting their governments handling of the Kurdish...the police outnumbered the protesters

No idea of how many steps we walked but it took us 1 1/2 hrs just to walk back from the Victory tower.
I think we walked about 7 hours.
