Goodbye Portland and the Pomegranate Inn, quite a eclectic range of furnishings! Overcast and cold, we hoped that the rain during the night was gone. Not to be and it rained on the trip north. We were really lucky as when we stopped at Boothbay Harbour, the rain eased and stopped. We walked around the area...Boothbay area is on a peninsula. I had no idea that Maine was made up of so many peninsulas! There are some really cute harbours and houses.
We had been told to stop at a diners called Moody's and have a piece of Lemon Meringue Pie. As it was on the way we stopped and not only had the LMP but also had coconut cream... Boy were they good! Well worth the stop.
When we reached Camden, our home for the next two nights, Jan and I walked into town to book dinner at a Thai restaurant that had a great write up. Unfortunately it was closed for Monday and Tues as were several other restaurants. We found one open and headed back to the Inn. We were so busy talking that we missed the street and kept on going. At least we had a good walk!
